Allah Reminds Prophet Eesa of His Favors
In ayah 111, we learn about some more favors that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala granted Prophet Eesa aalyhi salaam. He says,
“And remember when I inspired to the disciples to believe in Me and My Messenger, they said: ‘We believe. And bear witness that we are Muslims.’”
There are two types of wahi. One wahi is wahi shar’ee that is only given to the prophets of Allah. The other type of wahi is inspiration or ilham where Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala inspires the creation. For example, the incident of Musa aalyhi salaam. His mother was inspired by Allah to put him in a box and let it float.
Hawariyoun or the disciples were the sincere companions of Eesa aalyhi salaam. They were pious worshippers. They were inspired by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to submit to the message of Eesa aalyhi salaam and help him in his task.
– The tawfeeq to accept something comes from Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala alone. He is the One Who puts it in our heart. We should never attribute intelligence or smartness to ourselves that, “O I am so smart therefore I am able to do this.”
– No matter how impossible it may seem or how difficult the situation is never give up because Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is All-Able to put a good thought in one person’s heart. For example, the Bani Israel upon hearing the message of Prophet Eesa called it Sehr-un-Mobeen i.e. clear magic. But then Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala sent disciples his way who believed in the message that he brought. Similarly, we may find da’wah work difficult so instead of getting overwhelmed we should make du’a to Allah to help us. We cannot fathom how He will create the asbaab to aid us. We have to keep on relying on Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. We must keep our hope alive.
