Soon the Reality Will Be Revealed of What They Mock
In this ayah, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala reminds people about what they are mocking today or are heedless about. He says,
Indeed, they rejected the truth when it came to them, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to mock at.
This Ayah contains a warning and a stern threat for the disbelievers’ rejection of the truth, stating that the disbelievers will surely know the truth of what they used to deny and taste the evil end of their behavior. Allah advises and warns the disbelievers, that they should avoid the torments and afflictions of this life, similar to what befell their likes from previous nations, who were stronger, wealthier, had more offspring, and were more exploitive on the earth.
Right now these people who are heedless of their fate mock at the miracles and commandments of Allah, but very soon a time will come when all these realities will be before their eyes. That will be the Day of Judgment; there will be no turning back then and everyone will be accountable for what they said or did. That will be the Day of Retribution.
Therefore, the time to think is NOW. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has given respite. Act NOW, for it is by having faith alone that you will succeed in this world and in the last world to come.
– Denying something after knowledge is worse than denying something out of ignorance. If knowledge is not improving one’s behavior it becomes punishable. In this ayah, it is a warning for us. When we have learned something what is our behavior? Is it of acceptance or denial?
– Denying the commands of Allah is not progressive. It was the mushrikeen of Makkah who denied the Message of Rasoolullah salAllahu aalyhi wa sallam.
– Denial with mockery is more severe and sinful. When two crimes join together it definitely brings punishment of Allah.
– Those people who mock Deen are worthy of punishment. We believe mocking someone, making their fun is a “cool” thing to do whereas in our religion it’s a disgraceful thing.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala enable us to do our islah and give us the strength to readily accept and implement authentic knowledge, aameen.
